Samantha Connor is a disability advocate from Western Australia. She has lived experience of disability and is a wheelchair user. Samantha is a board member at People with Disability Australia, the WA Ministerial Advisory Council on Disability and People with Disability WA. She recently contributed to the expert committee on Workforce and Sector Capacity for the National Disability Insurance Scheme and has held a number of other state and federal advocacy roles. Samantha is a manager at a regional TAFE College, where she oversees the access and equity portfolio and ensures that students are able to overcome barriers to learning. She is passionate about social inclusion, human rights and has a particular interest in prevention of abuse, neglect and violence against people with disability. With her husband Peter, she has six children, two with disability and four who are ‘vanilla’. Samantha is a Scout leader, has a cat named Schroedinger and believes strongly in the adage that ‘a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world’.
