In delving into the ALA manifesto besides the post Pauline policies I am intrigued to know why they advocate a Greater Israel. The same desires of American fundamentalist churches to see Israel illegally expand to the ancient biblical boundaries. Does the ALA have its roots in the evangelical offspring of these churches here in Australia

You could almost copy Tony's post for my views. I am a proud member of ALA. My wife is Asian, for thirty + years now, her lovely eyes still look the same. Sorry Suresh, you have a job and you do it well - but I think you are (in fact I know it, since we have spent a decade in the Middle East - mostly Saudi Arabia) [comment deleted by The Stringer's Editors, unnecessary] or at least ignorant, about the mortal challenges and societal changes that Islam always brings to its hosts. I suggest you read the Quran....totally (I have read probably every english translation in existence - Abdullah Yussef Ali's being the best as it is almost a tafsir - read every bloody word). I know who our existential threat will be. I also know that their organ grinders, such as yourself [part of sentence deleted by The Stringer's Editors as unnecessary] are - absolutely too blind to see it. We have lived in the gulf, travelled all over it, and there is nothing I see that I want here. I also know a large percentage of Australians, probably even the majority - are increasingly furious about this Muslim migration issue. It is exactly, repeat exactly, [Comment deleted by The Stringer's Editors]. We all see terrorist attacks across civilised societies in the west - ad nauseum. At some point it rings an alarm bell in Australian minds. [Deletion by The Stringer's Editors] Muslims are not people we want here. It is sadly, too dangerous and crippling to any western society. Europe proves it - [Sweeping statement deleted by The Stringer's Editors], etc....and then add terrorism...

Derp
I am a member of the ALA . I'm hardly a facist, I consider myself progressive, I support LGBT rights , I'm a feminist and support white ribbon movement against domestic violence
I have no in intention of stomping on my non white wife (asian),our non white kids, our many non white friends , my black african doctor or my Indian customers.
I am an Atheist, secularist, Humanist, I know a bit about being poor and paying taxes. I don't know what a "fake libertarian front group"is, but I do know that you have very little knowledge of what the ALA is about
Here's a link to the web site.. http://www.vote1ala.org/
enlighten yourself
cheers

Why lie when you then undermine yourself using loaded words like "invade?"

The ALA is a fascist party intent on stomping on non-whites, people who identify as LGBT, and forcing the poorest to be the tax base. They're the fakest of libertarian front groups.

Suresh, You are caught up in this 'multiculturalism' but I think you are reading Dr Hercock wrong. You are selecting her quotes. ALA party does not say multiculturalism is the problem. They illustrate the problems generated within societies when Islam population grows. She makes a very valid point. Why wont the sunni Syrians move to Saudi/UAE/Bahrain/Kuwait? Why would they invade Europe and other countries around the world and place Islamic political demands such as Halal, prayer rooms? Do the Hindus/Buddhist/Japanese/Chinese do this? Dr. Hercock speaks for all non-muslims and please do not attempt to twist her words and intentions. Thank you!

Great piece Suresh. What interests me is the way that Universities use concepts of 'academic freedom' and 'freedom of speech' very selectively. I know of a number of academic staff at one WA University (not UWA) who were forced out of employment or were placed under considerable pressure by their university employer because they spoke out publicly and challenged powerful people and powerful interests in WA. The consequence was that those powerful interests exerted pressure on the University to silence the staff member. Clearly, the University believed that the staff member's direct challenge of powerful interests was not in the University's interests and took action that was intended to force the staff member out (reduce funding, reduce hours, cut staff). We have also seen cases where UWA has taken action against a number of respected staff members without providing any public justification or reason for the action. So Universities often take action against staff for political reasons.
